What is Euribor?

Euribor (Euro Interbank Offered Rate) is a reference rate that represents the average interest rate at which Eurozone banks offer to lend unsecured funds to other banks in the euro wholesale money market.

The Euribor rates are used as a reference for pricing various financial products, including mortgages, savings accounts, and derivatives. They are calculated for different maturities: 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months.

Euribor rates are particularly important for variable-rate mortgages, where the interest rate is typically calculated as Euribor plus a margin set by the lender.
